S, C, the dogs, and I were so blessed to be able to spend two weeks in MO with our families. We drove 1,200 miles in two days and survived! C did really well for his first roadtrip. He fussed whenever he began to feel himself tire out. Luckily I burned a white noise CD (the vacuum cleaner!) and we played it when needed. It helped soothe him to sleep, most of the time. The trip (for me) went extremely fast because I was busy entertaining C in the backseat. We made great time and were happy when our wheels hit I-55.
We spent the first week in J with S's family. God has great timing because Uncle "Stu" (S; Spencer's brother) and Aunt "CC" (C; S's wife) were also in Jawaiting the exciting news of a job offer for S in Austin, TX!!! WooHoo! Congrats, S! (We now have more family less than 10 hours away!) Cenjoyed his time with his Uncle Stu and Aunt CC and their two precious dogs. He also got to soak up some lovin' from his Gram and Pa. Gram and C became good rockin' buddies in the blue rocking chair! C also got to meet his Great Grandad and Great Nana. Their faces lit up when they saw him and they enjoyed holding and loving on C. During this time two of my great girlfriends from college drove down from St. Louis to meet C and have lunch with me. I was so happy that T, L, and L's daughter, K made the trip. I really enjoyed spending time with them. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in J and can't wait to go back!
The second week was spent in C'ville with my family. We had lots of visitors in and out to meet C so he met several people. C enjoyed being held and loved on and rocked and fed by so many close friends and family. One evening my Granny (C's GG & his #1 Fan; my dad's mom) cooked all of my favorites and most of my dad's family came over to eat and meet C. He met a ton of people there and really took to his Great Uncle . C's Great Great Aunt J made a special trip from S to meet C. She had the pleasure of rocking him to sleep, so sweet. C also met his Great Grandma (C was the talk of the nursing home!), G, Great Aunt B, and Great Aunt T. A few of my close girlfriends (AJ, AB, and B) stopped by to soak up some time with C as well. One afternoon, The C's (the most special people in the world, Dr. C married S and I) came by to meet C. Their faces glowed at the sight of him. C, of course, loved spending his time with his Nana, PaPa, Auntie E, and cousin B. Auntie E couldn't get enough of C. We loved our time while here and hope to return soon!
The time went way too fast! But it was a great time! We already are missing the three of you.
